    That’s because either

    1.  It’s taller than the mountains*

    or

    2.  It has 120mm cranks.

    *and has 120m cranks

hmmm – despite it’s ugliness, I’m quite impressed by the rear mudguard being part of the rear triangle. Although I suppose a plastic mudguard weighs nowt. I’m less impressed by the use of the rear mudguard to support the saddle when there’s a mahoosive big mounting point right under it though.

Likely makes it a damn site more comfortable to be seated on.

I’ve got a book somewhere on the use of computers to evolve the design of things like cars and bikes, turns out if you give a computer the basic parameters and run it through many design cycles it ‘evolves’ something very similar to the modern car. The conclusion being that in many cases, what you see is not the result of conservative design choices or fashion, but actually the best solution given the existing constraints.

That just popped into my head when I looked at that picture; maybe a couple of triangles is just the best solution after all.

Skirt all tucked up on the bendy top tube and it’ll be more like “you can see my pants from here”
