I’m looking at taking the kids camping, the wifes having none of it but the kids are dead exited. So I need a basic, cheap tent that will get minimal usage over summer that is easy to errect. I guess the budget would ideally be under £150

Initially, upon googling I am drawn to this http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/vango-eos-550xl-p261604?gclid=CPj2w-eE4b4CFZShtAodHAMAbw

    Any recommendations please?

oh yeah, looks good. The easier to put up the better with just me and 2x 5 year olds

I have that one, it is very easy to put up , a little harder to put away (in a fits in its bag kinda way)

Its fine and waterproof even in torrential french rain storms and in high winds just flexed about and sprung back into shape unlike some of the more rigid tents on the site.

One thing to bear in mind is that 4 man tents invariably only sleeps 3 in any sort of comfort, although if 2 are small kids it might not be such an issue. Always subtract 1 from the number a tent manufacturer tells you. Well apart from 1 man tents I guess!

I have that tent. It’s great and easily sleeps four adults. We’ve camped a lot over the years and now use the decathlon tent for anything up to a week with a tarp for outdoor additional cover.
