Does anyone know where I can get that composite stuff they build the interiors of campervans from? It’s plastic with a skin of aluminium on each side and painted? I can find a few places selling small sheets of 3mm thick stuff, but I need a reasnobly big sheet of 5-6mm thick material?

Anyone know what it’s called and where to buy it?

Di-Bond or Reynobond. Available from plastics shops. My local is Amari who have branches around the country. eg http://amariplastics.com/product/dibond/

Its used a lot in printing. I’ve had some pretty big bits out the skip of my local printers. I’ve only ever seen it in 3mm, though. No real need to be thicker as even an 8ft sheet is pretty stiff in 3mm, although I notice from my link they do sell it up to 6mm

Yep,Amari have iBond and Dibond comes with 0.2 or 0.3 skin. Most commonly in 3mm

    where are you?

can be v grooved on the back with a router to make folds. Easy to cut.

Righton, Antalis and Blackburn metals also sell the same products

Also if you are grooving and folding use the 0.3skin option.

Product data sheets are available for router bit info.
