.. the big news is the would be British Prime MInister chose a German bike to ride. No Oranges, Cotics, On-Ones or the like for him. Do you reckon it had an “I’m backing Britain” sticker on it?

A – Scott aren’t German. A Swiss operation, running alongside the US head office/ski outfit.
B – Why should having a bike stolen affect your ability as a politician? If an IT Analyst has their bike stolen, despite it being properly locked up, does that make them unfit to do their job? Nope.

Apologies Capt’n – I always though Scott USA were in fact German, but if they are Swiss then he hasn’t even gone for an EU bike. Getting the bike stolen makes no odds either way.

ADH – Yep again. And if I read the BBC website right then he actually got the bike returned last time. Which was important because he’d dcyled over 100 miles on it. Apparently.

Bloke can’t even ensure his bike is locked up securely. And you’d trust him with running the health service, education, the economy, defence???? 😯

Now then Rudeboy, please show some respect for an old Etonian and 5th cousin of the Queen. My worry is not that he is a puppet; it’s the nagging feeling that he isn’t.

That said, a vote for Gordon doesn’t look to appealing either. One thing I insist that my leaders do is lead – not wait to see what everyone is doing and then say that’s a good idea (and still somehow manage to make it look unpopular).

I’m confused who’s bike it was. Was it his,that he’d had robbed previously, or was it the one he borrowed?

Thing is about DC/the Conservative party in general, I actually can’t think of a single thing they’d have done differently compared to Labour over the last few years.

If we look at the big issues since 2000 – Iraq etc – the tories would have been just as much poodle-ish yankee butt kissers as Labour were. Credit Crunch etc – the Conservatives would have followed the same neo-con laissez faire attitude towards the banks and capital markets as Labour – especially since so many seem to have a background in the City.

The only difference I see is maybe they wouldn’t have had such a massive budget deficit/lower public spending in the “good times”

The tories would not have spent the riduclous amounts of money on civil servants who do nothing.

What i do not get is why did he have it locked up outside near his home and not inside his home? Also i know he is only the tory leader but i would assume the secret service etc would usually be keeping a watch on his property/surroundings in case of terrorism and the like.

Are the secret service not civil servants and therefore fit into my earlier post. Perhaps said secret people are out there now looking at which asian looking people they can arrest only to let them go a week or to later.
