Next PMQs I so want Dennis Skinner to go “Oink, Oink” when Cameron stands up.
I imagine Tory HQ are already running this past the Jewish and Muslim focus groups 🙂

Michael Ashcroft must have waaaaaay more dirt on not just Cameron but most of the cabinet.

What alarmed me a bit more was the detail on the workings of the bulingdon club (the ‘uniform’ was £2000 in that day’s money for a start 😯 )

But more so was that he knew (and is now caught out lying about) Ashcroft’s ongoing non-dom status a year before the 2010 election. That is not youthful hi-jinks whichever way you spin it. What will he come out with next week? Or is it a case of: “restore my non-dom or i Mail (sic) you bigger and bigger skeleltons from your closet every week.” 😆

Until I read this thread it never even entered my mind that it may not be true.

Is the book being serialised? Hopefully we’ll get to learn about Dave & Boris playing soggy biscuit together tomorrow.

Cameron gives me the creeps, Lord Ashcroft gives me the creeps, the Fail gives me the creeps – it’s [mildly] amusing from every angle.

Strangely I hate him so much that I can’t even take any joy in his humiliation. It’s not nearly bad enough for my liking.

If it’s true that Paul Dacre and the Mail really has ‘declared war’ on Cameron I’ll bet he’s regretting ignoring all those Levenson recommendations now !

Yep. Louise Mensch and assorted others have defended then later deleted defenses of students shagging dead farm animals, as if that’s a totally normal part of university life, yet not one person seems to have gone with “Nah, he wouldn’t do that”

    Well observed that, nice one.

I woke up in a field surrounded by cows one time at uni. But I’m reasonably sure I never ****ed any of them. And even if I did- like I say, I’m reasonably sure- at least it was still alive.

Can’t take credit, it’s one of the many things from Twitter that has made me giggle like a loon today.

To be fair, I probably would.

    We’ve all done it, right?

    Right?

Although the Bullingdon Club is the obvious example of privileged excess at Oxford, the “Piers Gav” is the more overtly hedonistic society. For all the frothing at the Fail, it’s not exactly a secret…

Ashcroft is a pompous berk, & the incumbent political class are wretches – it’s like watching a fight between two people you hate.

It’s interesting that the tabloid press gets much criticism for focusing on tittle tattle and generally dumbing down, and yet this thread appears to be by far the most successful one today.

It certainly seems that the Daily Mail’s revelations concerning what an anonymous person allegedly told a billionaire with a strong sense of entitlement and an axe to grind has captured the imagination of STW 🙂

Given that the “real” news today consisted of an announcement that the Tories were going to break their manifesto pledge not to stop free school meals, because of how feeding children is a threat to national security, that a coroner found that a man was driven to suicide by the DWP and people just shrug and think that’s normal now, and that the Hungarian government have authorised their forces to shoot refugees with rubber bullets, maybe people need a laugh.

That and the fact that he obviously did it.

If you didn’t take drugs and shag a pig at uni what the hell were you doing?

As an aside, I guess it’s true the Daily Mail could literally print articles calling a Tory prime minister out as a pig molester, and I still wouldn’t even think of buying a copy.

I bet Samantha bought a gallon of mouthwash today. 🙂

Whether he did it or not is irrelevant. What matters is most of us believe he would….

It’s really going to make IS and other Muslim organisations respect him and the UK, isn’t it? Will the Saudi Royals still shake his hands?

Richard Gere and David Cameron have never been seen in public together.

It makes you think, doesn’t it?

Apparently, tomorrows Mail was going to break the news of him being seen in a knackers yard with a whip.

But they thought that’s just flogging a dead horse.

There’s very obviously a power play going on here, but what’s the motive?

    Simple revenge?

Or replace him with a more Euro sceptic?

Could Boris be involved (he would have known of this)?

Tomorrow’s front pages are attacking Cameron on new fronts, including some Murdoch press turning on him. Ashcroft is being sarcastic on Twitter: https://twitter.com/LordAshcroft/status/645962182165962753

Most of the Tory press seems to be trying to play it all down

The hate mail is doing one of its character assassination as they did with Brown and Milliband and so many others

They really are going for him now. Sounds like they’re pushing for a quick resignation.

The Daily Mail is a truly vile organ. Much as I dislike Cameron he doesn’t compare to the awfulness that is The Mail.

That’s fantasy-land, frankly. Apart from the pig thing, there’s nothing in any of this which either directly involves him or we didn’t pretty much know anyhow.

An allegation that he (or any recent PM) had acted with a degree of competence in the Middle East would be a more surprising revelation.

    kimbers

I think he will weather it out, unless they’ve got any real dirt on him, its really just damaging his legacy, being remembered as the PM that ****ed the pighead isn’t the legacy hed have wanted.
I imagine that Gideon, Borris etc are hoping they are safe, which is just what the DM wants, the future PM, to be aware who can destroy their name.
Cameron is an ass, but the Mail shouldn’t be able to get away with this stuff
There is an element of Karma though for ignoring the levenson reccomendations

I hadn’t known that Cameron was ‘fully aware’ of Ashcroft’s tax status and had lied to parliament about that, if this is true of course. I’m surprised you knew.

It’s amazing what a trustworthy, reliable witness Ashcroft suddenly becomes when he starts attacking a Conservative prime minister.

I’ve yet to hear anyone describe Ashcroft as a trustworthy reliable witness. I’ve heard him described as someone with a grudge though.

Have we had any confirmation whether he actually **** it yet? The details are important people.

So when he claims Cameron was fully briefed on his tax status (and thereby must have lied to the house), is he to be trusted or not?

Always instantly dubious of allegations motivated by political revenge unless there is some other evidence to support them. I suppose some other folk may come out of the woodwork to confirm his allegations.
