Probably related to the humongous adverts that have appeared at the top of mobile pages now.
Double ones for the same thing, then car advert
Then something else….
All of which load before you can do anything else

Ta…not just me then and I clearly was blind to the other threads…

The additional ads are some sort of error. I reported it a few days ago. They appeared before the check box text. They only appear when logged in.
