South Manchester people – having drawn a blank when I was down that side of the city this morning, where’s good for a brunchy lunch in Didsbury? Was a bit surprised that Turkish eggs on sourdough can be had in the metropolitan environs of Bury but couldn’t find anywhere down there…

Personally I’d head up Barlow Moor Road to Chorlton for a far better selection of eateries

What kind of thing are you after?

As above, the stereotypical Turkish eggs/avo/sourdough/Flat white combo – assumed it would be wall to wall down there.

There are Reasons why Chorlton isn’t a goer. Don’t know if there’s anything further into W Didsbury e.g. along Lapwing Lane?

Expo Lounge in Didsbury Village do a decent brunch

If you want Turkish food there’s literally a Turkish breakfast/brunch place in Didsbury Village also, called Turkish Sweet Centre- it looks like a sweet shop but there’s a restaurant at the back. I’ve never been but heard its quite good.

Chorlton has some nice places but is hardly worth a 20min Metrolink journey when you’ve got either Didsbury Village or Burton Road in West Didsbury on your doorstep.

(I live in Didsbury Village but as a general rule West Didsbury and Burton Road are much nicer for eating and drinking).

Edit to say I second whoever said Thyme Out- very nice breakfasts there.

Daughter has recently moved to Didsbury – we had a very pleasant meal in Gusto a few weeks ago if you fancy Italian
