    Yeah the green is poison.

It’s the radioactivity that makes them green.

    Do you suit lycra?

Looks radioactive, get it to bite you and if you develop wall crawling abilities and a tingly spider sense I’m right.  If, however you die a horrible nasty death it’s probably poisonous.

About 5mm with a neon green/yellow abdomen? It’s a Cucumber Spider, apparently. I had one hanging from my helmet (ooh err!) in my eyeline, after riding though some local woods last weekend. They are supposedly quite common, but I have never seen on before and I’m old! The one I saw looked absolutely toxic.

Spooky, I found one of these in my bath the other day. Had never seen one before. Anyway, I got it to crawl onto my hand and I relocated it outside.

Yep getting more common. We went on a bug hunt with the scouts a few weeks ago and the forest ranger lady found a few of these for us. She said they used to be rare but this year they are everywhere.

The black one with green iridescent fangs will give you a nasty nip.

It’s Segestria florentina, and I threw one out of my flat in Kettering a few years back.

Why – was it browsing dodgy web sites?

    Cucumber spider, eh?

I’ve clearly been carrying too much salad or woodland in my car.

It had fitted a smart meter and was keeping a dog😋

Green orb spider. Beautiful things. I got a nice photo of one a couple of years ago.
