Well, the final race of the series was a lovely one!! The only mud splatters were from the initial starting line sprint!
Course was running fast and clean – some great descents as per usual!
Nice to catch up with some forumites: Kryton (taking it easy as per his training!), Yak, Padkinson etc!!
Despite being the same location as last time, it was a vastly different course – some new bits, some climbs reversed etc!
I was pleased to have grabbed gold again…”Merida helmets are on me”!!!
I MUST do a proper write up of the travers at some point – it’s SUCH a good bike!! Great as an XC whippet, but RRRRIPS the singletrack unlike a rigid bike should!!
Although I was taking it “easy” I’ve managed to hurt my lower back aargh!

It was an excellent course with good weather, I really enjoyed it. Managed 15th (results show 16th but someone got bumped) despite zero endurance training as yet and being at the end of a 12 week anerobic block. I’m very tired today, yet some 8 min intervals to do in an hours time!
Dr P was far too jolly at the end of 4hrs, I need some of what he’s drinking… 😉

Can’t recommed it, it’s fruit flavoured.
Doc, you sir are a single speed rigid master. Damn bloody splendid.
(good work race organisers too, the South of england is a quagmire)
