  • Blackberry Storm – no video call facility?

contract about to end, upgrade available, at Vodafone, offered a Storm – seems capable of a lot, but am I right in thinking there’s absolutely no way to partake in a video call on it?

Also, what happened to clamshell/flip style phones? I preferred that design, but there seems to be very few available (at the techy end of the market). Is it a conspiracy?

Blimey, you actually use video calls? I’ve never known anyone who used them ever.

Is it for some weird pornography / phone sex thing, or is there some other reason you want a tiny poor quality picture of the other person’s face when you call?

Do not get the storm, it’s a crippled phone. No Wi-Fi the touch screen is in fact a click screen, Camera is shockingly bad. if you need a blackberry get the Bold 8900, If you don’t need a blackberry there’s much better phones out there

Joe, I’m not surprised to hear that actually. However, my reasons are valid. On occassion, my missus goes home (Stockport) to visit her family and takes our daughter with her. I’m left here (Glasgow), missing the wee one terribly. One way of coping with the absence is through daily video calls, usually just before her bedtime, where I can see her cheeky face and hear her cheeky voice as she verbally abuses me with terms like ‘poo-poo head’, ‘stinky wee-wee face’.
The chat I get from my daughter is not much better!

But seriously though, that is the one and only reason for me to require that kinda facility on my mobile.
Having read some further reviews on the Blackberry Storm, I’m thinking against it. Very few happy consumers out there.
