Best present received today? *christmas content*

Well, we had quite a stressful day with my Wife’s family round.
But they are (mostly) gone now so looking forward to a quieter day tomorrow!

Didn’t get to open my pressies until almost 9pm, but when I did it was worth it. Got some crackers:

and we bought our daughter a Chillafish Quadie. Watching her tear around on that was amazing!

Waking up late, knowing that both our sons are home. Magic. All of us cooking dinner together, me dressed in my Crimbo ‘microfleece leisure-suit’. Tacky-tastic but super warm and comfy. Currently I am a fire hazard.

A hug from my 7yr old grandson when he opened the copy of Treasure Island that we are going to read on Monday evenings after we cycle back from his school together.

Plus a bottle of Ardbeg, which I shared a good quantity of with my daughters boyfriend this evening.

STW compliant DE razor from the SiL and a digital slr from the Mrs so a pretty good haul, and muchos bonus points with the Mrs for getting her some tickets to the ballet, just need to persuade her to take someone else to watch it!

Highlight of my presents received

Mrs Knob got me a 12-year old Tomatin (sherry casks), decent speaker cable, and a Rega Planar 3..

A voucher for a pair of rimless glasses from a very pucker local optician, the best presents, in my view, have form and function. With that approach in mind, MrsMC got shoes and boots from the Joseph Cheney factory.

Jura Superstition, Ardmore, Aushentoshan American Oak, but the top prize for the Hakushu Distiller’s Reserve from Japan.

One was a surprise, one I wished for, both made me very happy.

Tough call, but probably the bags of Kopiko I received, enjoying my first one as I type. Real coffee combined with toffee, super smashing great!

From my daughter. a Millennium Falcon bottle opener, a HOPE bottle opener, a bike themed mug (5 best things), from son, top tube bag and phone holder.

Main present was 3 x Heavy duty steel shelves from my wife – hardly exciting, but I did need them for the man cave and all are assembled and the garage is looking very tidy, with space !

Plenty of t-shirts, beers and wines.

Kids, his main present was a 18-135 Canon lens – we left it till last and he must have thought he wasn’t getting much ! Daughter was loads of make-up and clothes plus COD WW2 for PS4

Also got a carrying device (backpack affair) for my spotting scope, a Tee shirt that says, ‘I was cycling before it was cool’, a plastic toy microscope which is surprisingly ok, a Tassimo coffee machine, £750 off the MIL, a cuddly toy on a conveyor belt & a partridge in a pear tree.

She: France vs England six nations tickets – will need ear defenders because Mrs Tired is rather vocal in her support.

I don’t bother wrapping presents for myself any more! I bought myself a pair of (horse) riding socks for by bib 3/4s and a book on London Transport Design.

Best present today was a freebie from EE which I hadn’t a clue about..
Upgraded and extended my mobile plan with them just before Christmas and was sent some Beats X wireless bluetooth in ear speakers worth about £130.00..which I will never get to listen to as the teenage son has snazzed them ..
Wasn’t too bad though as I traded them for his on ear Bowers & Wilkins which he has hardly used since getting them for Christmas two years ago ( not cool anymore)..
All in all I’m chuffed 😀
