Best courier for sending (and receiving…) a full bike?

So who’s the current go to for getting a complete bike from one end of the country to the other?

Is it still Paisley Freight  or has anyone tried Send Bike  ?

Prices seem quite different between the 2.

I’d give Paisley a very wide birth, absolute pain to deal with.

I’ve been using Parcelforce and they’ve been ok, never tried Sendbike

What’s been the issues with Paisley Freight?

Looking at Send Bike they seem to use DHL.

We had an Ebike delivered to us as the timings meant that we couldn’t meet up.  The sender used bikedelivery.co.uk who he had used before. Everything went smooth and was delivered on time.

Got a Paisley Freight bike going tomorrow. They’ve always been fine for me (using APC) but are almost as expensive as Parcel Force these days so not necessarily the default choice.

What’s been the issues with Paisley Freight?

They didn’t turn up when they said they would (and they only said a day) three times in a row. No communication on the subject and then lied about it when I eventually got to speak to a person about it. Yery unhelpful and woeful customer service. A quick phone call first thing to say sorry, not going to make it, when’s convenient to reschedule for? isn’t rocket science and would make all the difference.

Usually Parcelforce for me.

I’ve used Paisley Freight LOTS over the past decade or so – for both bikes and car/van wheels and tyres – never had an issue. Always APC couriers that turn up to fulfill the order.

as long as its in a bike box and packaged well, i would be happy to use pretty much any courier. I have recently used Parcel Force and UPS without issue.

Lads from work have had bikes delivered by DHL.

They all seem to charge a similar amount initially and apart from a quid or two, insurance seems a similar cost between them.

Another Paisley/APC vote for me – never any issue over several years of using them.

Sold a bike on eBay couple weeks ago and sent it via Fedex. £35 for a 120cm 25kg box collected next day and with £900 cover. The website is confusing though and you have to set up a shipping account. Worth it though.
