I bought this and replace the bearings when needed!
I believe they’re the same as Superstar’s which is cheaper but I could be wrong!
I thought the numbers on Shimano’s just represent the level of quality so bb71=Deore/SLX and bb91=XT/R. Could be wrong on this but as long as you have 89.5 or 92mm bb then either should fit and you could run the SLX crank.
As for reliability – I think they’re all c**p.
Hope do a £90 one and CK reportedly have one coming out.

The best quality ones I have used by far are these;
The bearings are the correct inside diameter for Shimano HTII crank axles so there are no nasty plastic top hat reducers required unlike all the others (the Hope is the other exception I believe).
If anyone tries to tell you there are adaptors to use normal BB’s then they are wrong (they are thinking of BB30).Posted 4 years agojonxmackMember

I bought one of these for my Lurcher frame that I will be using with an XT crank. Not built it yet but it fits.Posted 4 years ago
