Works Xmas lunch tomorrow afternoon will be followed by a couple of shandies in Stirling centre. So where’s good and where’s bad? Stumbling distance to the station would be good.

Taxi to allanwater brewery in Bridge of Allan instead. 😊

What do you class as good?

Morrisons (where the old post office used to be) – lots of space, plenty variety of drinks and a few pool tables – 2 minute stumble to station.
Across road from Morrisons and up the hill you have No.2, Wetherspoons and Brewdog.
Rather good Whisky bar along the road across the road from Velocity 44, if you prefer a spirit.
City Walls and Kilted Kangaroo (both furthest away from station) are also fine for range of drinks and space for a crowd to drink.

Depending on who all is out, there aren’t any bad places, but there aren’t many that stand out as definite places to go and spend time with work mates for an afternoon.

As Nobeerinthefridge says – Allanwater brewery isn’t far away on a train (bus or taxi also available).

Thanks guys, the Allanwater brewery sounds like it might be a goer, depending on the frequency of trains back to Perth from the Bridge of Allan Station.

Well, if you’re going for a crawl from Morrisons in Stirling, to BofA Brewery, you may as well do the Tappit in Dunblane….

Has anyone mentioned BofA Brewery yet?

They are probably still sweeping up the mince pie crumbs from last night when the bar was rammed but Douglas kept a table for us regular bikers and then forced mulled wine and pies on us.

The BofA Brewery is a nice place with friendly staff but the beer isn’t the best despite having many taps. I’m a big real ale fan and really wish they’d sort this out! They are very accommodating of muddy mountain bikers though! The Westerton in BofA is a great pub.

I thought Nicky Tams was ok. Got a decent pint. Friendly enough. Let us take the dogs in and made a fuss over ’em.

thats was Mulled cider but never mind…

the 70/- is going quite well at the Brewhouse right now.

+1 for Nicky Tams but the Tappit Hen in Dunblane is the best pub around.

Ended up in Brewdog – I could book a booth on line, so knew we would get seats.
It was very nice – but a bit chilly.
Must remember to pay the tab before leaving next time – doh! (yes, I did go back to pay and leave a hefty tip for being an idiot).
