I love Back to the Future.

Everyone hates it now 🙁

All the matrix films and all the star wars films. They’re all entertaining as long as you don’t take yourself too seriously. All the bad reviews I’ve seen of the ones that serious film watchers don’t like sound like they’re so up their own arses I’m surprised they can see the screen. They’ve all got great imagery, good action scenes and keep you watching. If ropey plots made bad films then I can pull out plenty of classics that are awful.

Just watch and enjoy, as soon as you start analysing popular media you’ve missed the point.

Nor do star wars episode’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 (checking rotten tomatoes the worst reviews were for episode one?!)

I was going to suggest flash Gordon, but… It’s 80% fresh on rotten tomatoes…

I Really enjoyed the first Transformers film

The last one, however, I never knew robots punching each other could be so boring, when the credits came up and it said “written by” I was genuinely shocked that someone hadn’t just shat it into existence

Dune

I’m assuming when people say ‘Dune’ they mean this little beauty:

Easily my most watched film, although about 90% of that viewing was when I was about 12 years old.

@senor j: there’s a lot to like, but I think the thing I like the most is the art design- sci-fi meets victoriana gothic. I think that Event Horizon took a lot of pointers from this!
