18 months in of XX1 AXS beautiful smooth shifting, my mech has started playing up. It just stops responding and only comes back after fiddling with battery and connections. Anyone else got any experience.
Just replaced my first shifter battery - coincidence or have I reset/upset something?

Do you oil the pivots on the mech? Have them dried and got sticky somehow?

Do you have to pair the shifter to the mech after a battery change?

I am yet to have any issues with my X01 setup. Must be two years into ownership now, although it hasnt been used for the last 4 months due to waiting on a replacement frame.

I dont own AXS so don't have a proper clue, but can you delete/unpair everything and repair it from scratch? like the IT classic have you tried turning it off and on again? Aslo I see lots about firmware, are those up to date?

There is an AXS facebook group where the admin are SRAM guys looking to help or take feedback, could join that and ask them?

Not had a problem, but I guess could be: dirty contacts on battery or mech, needs pairing again, connect to app and check firmware up to date, check the battery you installed is properly seated...

Answers to above - yes warranty but Italy and no spare mech!
Not sticky - its not even trying to drive (no green LED) in response to shifter request.
Do not have to re-pair after fiddling with battery.
Tried re-pairing everything today but haven't been a ride to test yet, firmware is up to date and cheers for the FB link - will give it a try.
Battery contacts look OK, definitely clean and seated OK.
Pattern seems to be check pre ride OK, ride for a while then just stops responding. Take mech battery off and replace - may fix or may not, if not try taking off again later and that fixes it. Sounding like a fault therefore needs to go to SRAM.
Anyone tried SRAM UK warranty for stuff bought in EU before brexit?

Is your shifter battery dying? Works for a bit then goes flat. Recovers after a period of rest.

I would first unpair/forget the devices (shifter and derailleur) from your phone app. Then unpair the derailleur from the shifter. Then take the battery out of the derailleur and shifter. Close the app and swipe away to ensure it’s actually closed. Restart your phone. Wait a couple minutes then install the batteries. Make sure your batteries have enough charge (green lights turn on). Turn on your phone, open the app, repair everything and try again. This is essentially a “hard reset” of all devices involved.

SRAM's warranty is global so SRAM UK should sort it...shop might complain a bit about dealing with it though.

Iain Mc has a zyro fisher account, might ask a favour.
I'll try hard reset above as well - shifter battery is brand new but could be faulty I guess - pennies to try another one.

I'm back in love!
Re-paired everything and changed out shifter battery (was a new one but problems started after replacement) a few days ago and last three rides have been all good!
Thanks for tips and advice.

New batteries sometimes aren't that new.
