100mm Stem with really stupidly wide bars, should’ve gone for a medium frame not a small!

Personally I’d never go longer than 70mm on a mountain bike(at the mo, between 3 bikes, I don’t have longer than 40mm) I’d sooner look into a layback post, which will only effect handling when seated, rather than a stem which dramatically changes steering characteristics all the time (except when no handing, but that’s never been the best technique for rock gardens.)

70mm on everything except a rarely used hybrid.

So that’s perfect for the overweight middle-aged trail centre mincer… 😉

Anyone ever made an adjust-while-riding stem? I mean virtually everything has a remote these days…

My Swift has a 90mm now with jones bars
Pace has 110mm with straight wide bars

Road bikes both have 110mm

I’m 5′ 11″; road bike has 100mm stem with 420mm noodles and the Prince Albert has a 45mm stem with 680 risers.

I’d like wider bars but my local trails are pretty narrow (wiggly woodland singletrack).

well threw on some 710mm 1″ risers with a 70mm stem – feels like a completely new bike! sooo much more confident inspiring. honestly its so different.

harder climbing but I can live with that
