My Tune freehub body has cracked again close to holidays so perfect timing as usual…

I’m under the impression that SRAM made XD with an open patent for others to manufacture which everyone except Shimano has done.

Are all the bodies the same across brands? Can I buy something else and it will work with what’s left of my Tune hub?

From the XD Driver webpage its suggesting that all these are compatible:
Boyd Cycling, Truebc, Ridea, Ursusa, FSA, Scope Cycling, Kappstein, Damil, SRAM Rise 60, SRAM Roam 50, SRAM Rail 50, SRAM Roam 60, DT Swiss, Mavic, Campagnolo, Fulcrum, Bontrager, Easton, Industry Nine, FRM, Wilderness Trail Bikes WTB, Hope, Tune, Ritchey, Stan’s Notubes, American Classic, The Hive, Crank Brothers, Acros Sport, Quality Bicycle Products QBP, Formula Engineering, Studio Riva SRL, Rolf Prima, Berleau, Project 321, Full Speed Ahead, Atomlab, Wheelbuilder Inc., Choosen, New Prismabike, Zefiro Italia SRL, Ten on Ten, Alchemist SRL, Alex, Hadley Racing Products, Velocity USA, SyntaceKT, Bartime, 3T, FRM, ISON(Halo), Kappius, Superstar Components, Bike Chile, Velo Atelier, Carbon TI by LLS, Onyx Racing Product, MICHE, Soul Kozak, Parts of Passion, Yu Hub Industrial, WFG Studio, ACSE, Wei Da Trading Co., South Jersey Running and Triathalon, Formula SRL, Reynolds, Modus, Spinergy, Novatec Wheels, Glory Wheels

Hope XD driver on Tune hub? Possible?

No. They are the same on the outside but brand specific on the inside.

The open standard only refers to the interface between the cassette and the freehub body. How the freehub sits on the bearings or engages with the pawl or ratchet mechanism is down to each manufacturer.

Damn, Tune aren’t making my hub anymore… this could get awkward and spendy. Trip to the Tune factory tomorrow methinks.

If anyone is looking for a DT Swiss Ratchet XD freebody I should have a spare one tomorrow.
