Am after a decent, fireproof safe for our ever expanding collection of iPads and documents. Thought it would be easy enough to Google it but for every decent review there is a bad one and have spent the best part of the afternoon going around in circles!

Anyone got a decent enough safe they can recommend, ideally want one that can be bolted to both wall and floor? Looking at spending up to £300.

    Cheers.

Do you want fireproof and secure? How long/how much and how big, and how do you want it to lock?

I’d look at something from Dudley or Phoenix, you should get something of reasonable size with 2k cash cover and a fire rating for that budget.

Speak to your local safe specialist. Don’t think you’ll get wall and floor mounting but I wouldn’t worry about it floor is fine mounted properly.

Most fireproof safes aren’t really that secure. Having said that my Parents house was burgled and they carried the Yale Fireproof safe into the garden and set to it with spades and forks from the garden shed, barely scratched the paint. They gave up and left it in the vegetable patch.

We have a couple of fireproof safes just to hold documents etc in case there is a fire, e.g. computer backup HDs go in there along with insurance docs etc. Just means if someone breaks in and nicks my 2010 MBP, I at least have a backup of all the family photos etc.
