Posted 1 month agoThat is some Primary Position – I expect to see a close pass video shortly.
Posted 1 month agoI rode through a similar depth in the last floods a couple of weeks ago – well, I rode halfway through a short stretch and just managed to unclip and get off before I stalled and fell off/in. It was as I waded the remaining 30 yards that it occurred to me that falling in 5 miles from home with an air temperature of 1-2 degrees would have been a **** stupid thing to do, regardless of carrying a foil blanket and an insulated gilet.
On the plus side, I can confirm that those cheap Podsac frame bags from Planet X are seriously waterproof

Posted 1 month agoThat’s total commitment. Or utter lunacy. Whichever.
Also highlights the amazing freedom of choice a bicycle gives you.
Definitely wasn’t me though.
Posted 1 month agoThat’s the road from Llanrwst to Trefriw in North Wales with the Gwydir (Marin) trail just at the end of the road. The road floods regularly and never too deep. Also, if you live here, you’ll be soaked to the skin already.
Posted 1 month agoFlood biking will be the big trend of 2021. Rapha will be releasing a range of wetsuits with a chamois soon.

This deserves more recognition. I lol’d.

Posted 1 month agoThey’ll be on here later asking “help me find some good waterproof socks” and “why do my bearings wear out so quickly?”
Posted 1 month agoI misjudged the depth of a flood once, it came part way up the headtube, even the bottom of my shorts got wet!
Posted 1 month agoNearly ended up in a situation like that this morning but decided to turn around. To be fair it was -2 and dark…

I got to the fork crown on the Greenway between Mickle Trafford and Chester last year. Ignored the signs – it’s a old railway line, how deep can it get? Annoying I still had about 10 miles to go on my commute to Connah’s Quay. Pretty bloody cold feet and legs by the time I arrived.

Blimey, I thought ignoring the “road liable to flooding” and reaching hub level at the weekend was bad enough.
