    I do like Alpkit BTW.
But if they start making solid, well designed practical kit like the Gourdon or Filo ‘inspirational and aspirational’ I’ll be well pissed off.

Why don’t you just buy the product instead of getting all fey and angsty about some minor marketing term? It’s not as if it doesn’t have rack mounts and stuff… 😉

ps: I hate that thing when people call off-road cycling, ‘mountain biking’ to make it seem all glamorous and aspirational. It properly makes me want to throw all my toys out of my gnar pram.

STATO, I don’t think the Transmitter is really designed for bikepacking is it? Not when it has a dropper fitted.

Ah thats right, of course, forgot you cant bikepack without a Ti frame 😆

Was quite interested until I saw who designed them.

Do you mean the company or a specific frame/ bike designer mate?

Sorry if I skim read and missed it.

The designer. Quite like Alpkit themselves…

For those interested in the Camino, there’s a well priced aluminium version on the way. That could well suit me down to the ground.

Wonder if they have any plans to do Cycle to work….

    And especially for Rusty Spanner

“Cycle tourers will be pleased to hear that rear rack mounts and front/back mud-guard mounts will come as standard.”

Been thinking of the camino for a while – drop 3 bikes and replace with 1.

The seem to have just jumped in price by £300 and dropped hydraulic discs 🙁

Is that because Alpkit now sell panniers and racks?

Shock! 😯 Bike company sells stuff that works with other stuff they sell!

Yikes – the price has increased, but still listing Force1 hydro discs on their website.

FWIW, I love my Camino, and now I feel like I’ve ‘saved’ £300!

    That looks excellent.
Good value too (says £300 here?).

I’ve bought a bike now, after an 8 month wait for a frame (hence the grumpiness about the original), but this would have made it a tough choice.

I hope they do really well.

Edit – Just spotted the panniers – very interesting, especially the clipless one.

I’m going to Alpkit on Friday for a test ride of the Ti and Aluminium Camino.
Been dithering for ages about purchasing the Ti one, just seen it’s gone up by £300.
Alu one does look good value for money.

Upthread, people were saying that Sonder bikes were missing rack mounts because Alpkit are all about bikepacking with softbags…anyway, this is a pleasing development and the new alu Camino is very tempting.

i didnt even notice the Camino Alloy section – no wonder they moved the prices around.

    This could be dangerous.

There’ll be be many a bike going up by that sort of margin (or more) in post brexit vote Britain.

I popped in to Alpkit with a mate this morning so he could pick up a headtorch.

Ended up doing laps of the car park on £1850 worth of Vir Fortis carbon Fat Bike.

It is now the planned N+18 🙄

I have a Vir Fortis, you won’t regret it.

Lovely bike, very light, amazes everyone when they want to lift it up.

the £300 is prob to do with the old Brexit thingy – most bikes have just jumped in price as the good old £ is performing slightly worse than the Argentinian Peso at the mo …..

Carbon fibre Transmitter anyone? Don’t look too hard at the front tyre… 😉

Not only does he trick me into testing a fatbike, he then starts stalking me on here!

Has anyone compared the Camino Alloy Vs the basic Specialized Sequoia?
