You know what its like- out for a ride, watching out for midgies, etc, and the next thing you know- a crane sweeps down from nowhere and makes for your tender thighs. Pecking away like nobody’s business. Digging for tubers or mistaking my thigh for a small amphibian, no doubt.
I usually find its a Common Crane, but the Siberian ones are a pest, too. When I’m in Siberia of course.
