So whats out there for that sort of money thats good ?

Would prefer road or cyclocross bike or a tourer.

Don't want fixed so don't even go there but would consider singlespeed as the commute is quite flat 😉

Needs to be available in a 62ish cm frame as I'm 6'5" with a 34" inside leg and longish arms.

Would be good if i could fit mudguards for the winter.

Any ideas, links, pics etc welcome.

Google "kona Dew Drop" – they come in on your price and are road/tour bikes, with discs and on discount in some locations. Only 8sp though and you may want to try for size though as the frame isn't "normal" sizing…

I'd have one if my 1997 Jake the Snake gives up the ghost – but it just won't die!

I am a commuter, can you spend it on me?

organic355 – only if you don't mind me riding you 25 miles to the office and back each day 😯

    😉 😆

Planet X are currently doing Alfine Pompinos for that price.
I'd buy one, but my kaffenbach is nowhere near worn out enough for me to replace it….
