    Im strugling to get a good screw on wheel for my old school 5spd road bike.

    so far i can only think to take a flip/flop hub re-space it and go from there

    Help?

    ye man it is a bit. i was hoping for seald bearing’s. i think its going to be a struggle tho iv been trying to find one for a while now.

    I think you’ll have trouble finding sealed bearings in such a hub given the time difference in tech development.

    Does it need to be QR or will bolted axels do? As you say, you may be able to respace a modern sealed bearing track hub with a new axle and lock nuts.

    Have you tried looking at BMX hubs? They’re 120mm so may work with a 6mm spacer on the drive side.

    It’s a very spendy option but Phil Wood do a 126mm freewheel rear hub – Phil hubs

    Why not just get a 130 hub – it’ll fit fine in a 126 frame and open up your options.

    Are you mistaking sealed bearings for quality? If you want quality something like a Campag Record will go for ever.
    However if sealed are must try Mavic 501’s
