I've seen a fair few footballers talking about how yoga is helping them play into their late 30's and whilst I'm not even 30 I would like to give it a go. All the classes near me either run during the day or a bit late. Has anyone just followed a youtube vid at home? Does it make you more supple? Will I find zen!

I bloody love it.

Have a look at the Giggs Fitness DVD as a basic introduction then get yourself along to a class ASAP.

If you can find somewhere local to you that has a proper set up give Bikram Yoga a go and be prepared for one of the hardest workouts you've ever done.

There's a better yoga vid than that knocking around.

There are loads if you look; but yoga for surfers is a good 'brand' of videos for almost all sports.

there certainly is, and I know exactly how to find it...

I've been doing Satria yoga for a while. Really really really hard work. Works the core really hard.

I love what yoga does to my body and mindset, in fact it's starting to take over mountain biking.

The only advice I'd give is go gently with it, it's not a competitive sport so follow what your body is capable of...

and...

Doing 10+ hours in a week because you've got a free trial at a yoga studio may not be the best idea.

I really enjoy 'Yoga for Cyclists' DVD by Andria Davies. Its made a massive difference to feeling good and reducing pain and niggly injuries.

Managed to get Mr LadyMTB into it too! He loves it 🙂

Well I gave it a go tonight and boy am I inflexible! Started with the equinox vid and soon realised 😆 the surfing vid is good but above my current ability! I'm looking forward to practising some more.
