Do a project Binky with it?
Festival of the Unexceptional?

If you use it everyday, do you have another car to use while you’re modifying it?

Do you have the cash / space / skills / spare time / tools to do the work?

I’ve had motorbikes in bits, happily spent months with them off the road. Learned so much, didn’t cost much, had a garage to keep it in and friends to help me with it.

If doing it yourself it will probably take longer than you think..

Good luck!

As someone else said previously, if you're looking to stick an ST170 engine in it, just sell it and get a Focus ST170 or Fiesta ST150.

They're both still pretty lightweight for modern cars and Fords of that era are really great to drive.

Be a shame to modify such a nice example and I'm a massive fan of restomods as well.

I'd make yourself known to a few 'vehicle wranglers' for film and TV. Unremarkable period cars in good original condition are like hens teeth - but if you're wanting to film a scene set in the 80s or 90s you need whole streets worth of 80s and 90s cars but you don't want it to look like a classic car show. The problemn is the only cars most people have from that era are high spec or sporty editions which just looks dumb on screen if they're the only cars on the street.

You can make pretty good money that way - I've been paid £500 a day to hand around a film set with a 12 year old astra van 🙂
