looking for a replacement for MovieMaker, nothing too clever just to edit simple family vids

I've tried VideoPad plus another one I can't remember but after a couple of goes it just said I only had a trial version and it had expired.

Any suggestions please?

cheers

sorry admin, but posted this in bike by mistake (very long day) can you move it please.

I don't know if this is any good for you but Humble Bundle are currently doing a photo / video editing bundle:

Might be overkill, but Shotcut is free, cross-platform, and even though it's full-featured it does the simple MovieMaker type stuff in a really straightforward and easy to learn way.

Timely thread - was thinking of starting something similar (apologies for blatant bookmarking)

OpenShot is pretty good, fairly simple, and free. http://www.openshot.org/

On the odd occasion I have video to edit I use Wondershare Flimora, 30 USD for the full version and worth it, works very much like iMovie.

Last week I inadvertently installed something called Movie Maker from Videopix Store. I was directed there from the Microsoft page, not realising they'd stopped distributing MovieMaker for W10.

I assume this thing is poison and is going to infect my laptop if I open it. Anybody tried it?

Are you sure the link came from the Microsoft page - can you link to the page ?

It's the page you get to if you google "Microsoft Movie Maker"

Don't click if you're after Moviemaker
