For kids 5-8 or is it going to go bang on the first run?

Those fabric covered airbeds are good - blow 'em up as hard as you can

The kids would have to be really small to fit 5 or 8 of them on a car inner tube.

Car tyres are pretty small, so one might do a little kid I suppose. Shouldn't burst too easily, but if it does then I presume they're not too costly anyway and the kid will have a loud and entertaining stop!

they don't really go bang as the pressure is pretty low

absolutely will, even better if you put it inside a thick bin liner

So where do you get car innertubes from?

Stu - not if it's only pumped up to support a kid, no need to reach 30psi just for sledging 😀

Tyre fitters may well have some, agricultural based fitters are best bet as they'll have some from trailers and tractors.

thanks for the advice, update:

Picked up two used car inner tubes & latched a towing rope onto them & my kids loved them, no control whatsoever, but fun all the same.

Giving them a launch with the rope and spinning them round at the same time added fun 😉
