I have a nest WiFi network and nest doorbell. Sadly the two don't like playing together as the WiFi forces devices to 5ghz while the UK doorbell version is 2.4ghz only. The node placement means that the 5ghz signal is strong at the front door and I cannot think of a way to reconfigure the nodes that would not have undesirable effects.
Sooo I'm thinking of using a range extender as a dedicated network for the doorbell. Does anyone know of a model that can use 5ghz to connect to the main network but that I can configure to only transmit 2.4ghz and on a distinct SSID?
If not I'll probably try and find a small switch with WiFi as I need some extra Lan ports anyway.
