I've not done anything to it. Done nothing unusual. But mr right thigh is aching really badly. Like toothache. It's not the muscle or the joint but it feels like the bone is hurting. Doesn't make any difference if I move or stay still, but it's really bad.... 🙁

Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. You've been exercising, and only after a while do your muscles hurt. Quite common

I see. Thing is the muscle seems OK and all I've done due to this crappy weather is ride in this morning, which I'm well used to. It's like the bone is hurting. It goes between a dull ache and a sharp pain, and it's been getting worse all day and it's getting to me now.

Bone hurting?

Could be a malignant growth or perhaps a parasitic larvea feeding on your bone marrow before shattering your leg as it hatches.

Just a thought

Have you checked for a gunshot wound?

Some of this modern ammo is quite polite.

Have you been in contact with cormorants recently? I'd heard that they cause cancer (I think we summarised that coots and moorhens didn't though).

On a serious side...sciatic pain? Kind of feels like it's deep inside the thigh - rubbing and massaging doesn't seem to come close...

Actually, I reckon bone cancer.

Did you get a fizzing sensation just behind you tackle?

You might have to drive something less exciting in the future 😉

WCA and deadlydarcy - don't joke about that kind of thing. J thought he had hurt his shoulder climbing...

I am not being angry/sad/telling you off here - it's more like a PSA to say anything that doesn't feel right or doesn't get better after a sensible amount of time you should get it checked out... Most likely it is nothing serious but it could be.

Have you greased the ball & socket joint in your pelvis? Some people say that they wear out too quick and they get theirs replaced with fancy titanium and stuff, but with proper maintenance they can last a lifetime. Get someone to pull your ankle and check for play at the hip.

Mr Poddy stood on the burning bridge
His lip was all a quiver
He gave a cough, his leg fell off
and floated down the river

I have a similar thing too which got even worse.
Turned out that the groin muscle was very stiff
and started laying/trapping my sciatic nerve.

My advice would to get to your Physio but very
happy to email pics I have to do to stretch out
the muscle.

See, told ya, told ya, na na ni naa na.

Ooooh, pics here too...if a groin's involved.

TN - lighten up dude - I think it's tradition here that anybody asking what's wrong with them is either diagnosed with "teh bad aids" or cancer of whatever area is causing concern. I think PP is seeing the funny side of things - neither of us (speaking on WCA's behalf of course) means any offense or to make light of the suffering of others.

Dumbass, if you'd taken it apart when it was new and pumped it full of grease, you wouldn't have this problem. They never put enough grease in them from new.

Cancer caused by cormorants

I do believe IMSMC that it was you BD who suggested that cormorants caused cancer.

deadlydarcy, I know you were joking and I didn't take offense - honestly - I was just making a comment that sometimes pains need to be taken seriously. Other people have made serious comments about trapped sciatic nerves and DOMS, so how was my comment any different?
Okay, NOW I maybe need to lighten up.... 😉

My bones used to ache when I was pregnant. Is that a possibility?

Glad it's not cancer then. I need someone to bring cakes when MrsPP can't make it. I did think you looked a bit 'big boned' last time I saw you.

Not mine is it?

Delayed soreness or wacked/strained it without realising.

Wait a day and if it's bad-GP time.
