UK was terrible in every way. So boring. Didn’t even have a jumper with his face on it.

I can’t see a lot of competition for last place other than the UK

Oh I don’t know. After the last couple of weeks Israel has surely to be in with a shout

Eurovision scores are all about politics, not music.

I’m confident we’re still hated even more than the genocidal zionists though

Such is our status in the world at the moment

Not massively inspired by anything this year.

Germany looked like they’d gone down the route of taking the piss that Ireland did a few years back with Dustin The Turkey...and the Eurovision audience has not yet forgiven us for that.

Everything seemed very Euro-vanilla otherwise. I suppose I quite liked Italy’s metal effort. My vote went to France in the end.

Just thinking… the UK has all the advantages that other countries would kill for… a language understood by more Eurovision voters than any other… a song writing and music industry to rival any other country in the world… yet we still enter utter shit that even the song writer’s and performer’s mothers would find hard to pretend to like… what is wrong with us?!? And is this a metaphor for so many other things…? We should be the the envy of the rest Europe, but we’re just pissing our pants and ranting at shadows.

We should be the the envy of the rest of Europe

You could bring John Lennon and George Harrison back from the dead and enter the Beatles and we’d still come last with nil points

It’s not about music

Just watch how all the former communist countries all give Russia top marks even though it’s shite.

They’re just terrified that if they don’t then Putin will invade them next

It’s not “just” about music, and I agree we can’t win… but we could at least enter a good song! You know, something to show off what we can do.

As for former communist countries… we used to be one of their best allies in the West… we helped “bring them in from the cold”, but now we’ve abandoned them, and based mostly on people hating their people coming to the UK (as invited) to make a life for themselves here. We are hated in return now, understandably.

What’s the point? They all hate us

We might as well just carry on entering pub singers to take the piss

The UK music industry sells tens of billions around the world every year. How much do you reckon Moldova or whichever other donkey that wins will be exporting other than to DJs in gay clubs in Luxembourg?

To be fair I thought Russia was one of the better ones this year. But even if I didn’t and I shared a land border with them I’d think about giving them my vote.

Ukraine get my vote (if I could be arsed to vote that is) The fact they have an awesome ratrod in the official video sealed it for me 😀

Loved the silliness of Iceland and Germany too! Used to hate eurovision but now embrace the camp naff-ness of it all.

Why do we even bother entering a proper song.

It wasn’t a bad song. Not great but a normal pop song that you might hear on the radio. Many, objectively, were far worse.

Totally agree. The song is bad enough but they hate UK more. LOL!

Nul point is actually good. Should keep this record as long as possible.

I’ll take the fact that the entire show was narrated in English as a win. That will have annoyed the 5h!t out of the French and their dirge didn’t win. Germany resisted the urge to have a marching tune. The UK entry was awful as usual. Italian tune was by far the best of an average bunch. The Netherlands did a good job of hosting a difficult event. Normal Service is resumed.

As I saw on Twitter, Amanda Holden saying phrases in two languages and then saying she didn't know which was which might be exactly the problem

You can cite politics as the reason for the UK not getting any points, but some of that has to be down to it simply being appallingly bad too.

In contrast to the Italian song who put some effort in, we had a chubby welder singing an achingly mediocre karaoke style bland tune with not a lot else to detract from the blandness.
Not surprising really.

Always seems odd that the UK has produced some of the most innovative and creative and popular music worldwide, ever, but then when it comes to Eurovision, we can only manage tripe. 🤔

What odds did you get on nil points? I got 2/1 on us finishing last and I’m kicking myself for not putting more on it as it was basically free money.

It was like a few seasons ago when every time United played I’d put money on Fellaini to get booked, then just sat back and waited for it to pay out 😂

It’s Eurovision. It’s all tripe. We’re simply fulfilling the brief.

You could get a seriously credible UK artist (not that one would touch it with a barge pole) and they could record a masterpiece and they’d still finish last with nil points

The Big 5 are the 5 countries that pay the most (and basically bankroll) the ESC. 3 of them finished in the bottom 3. Cripes.

The reason why the other songs do so well is that they are genuine stars in their own country. I can’t remember much of the info but the Iceland offering, they have multiple millions of online followers.

We need to put in some genuinely popular (before they even think of entering) UK artist, not someone developed just to enter for one year.

But those countries take Eurovision seriously. Listen to Graham Norton's commentary (and Terry Wigan’s before). We regard it (quite rightly) as a joke and laugh at it sneeringly. Hence only sending karaoke/pub singer acts to ‘compete’

We can take this mocking position as a country because only the US exports more music than us. The market for UK music acts is worth billions. Our cultural influence musically is huge

How much music from Moldova do you reckon is being sold around the globe?

Everyone grew tired of us s****ing from the sidelines and taking the piss quite some time ago. Hence nil points

It would’ve helped if anyone involved in the UK entry had actually watched the show in the last 20 years. Ours was the least “Eurovision” by a long, long way. Utter mediocre pap. Either be really, really good, or be Germany 🤣

Our entry was an award winning song writer! Well... co-wrote a song for Rudimental that won best tune at 2014 Brits.

It deserved the Nil Points. An utterly dull unmemorable song, Performed poorly too, and staged in the worst way that EV has to offer. How did two MASSIVE trumpets connect with the song apart from trumpets being played in the tune?

The UK produces some of the best music in the world and there is genuine talent at our disposal. We need to get away from the deep set idea that this is the gimmicky point and grimmace fest of years ago.

Others countries take it seriously, and it's a great platform for showcasing musical brilliance. We need to get away from putting up bland 'safe' pop songs, it doesn't work.

Showcasing musical brilliance? Behave. It's third rate karaoke, at best. Do you think that anyone will remember the act that won this year by the time next years comes around? Of course not!

Do you think that they're going to go on to a glittering career selling multi-platinum albums? Don't be daft. They'll be back miming to PA's in gay bars in Helsinki.

I'd much rather we carried on sneeringly taking the piss and laughing along with Graeme Norton at all the sub-X-Factor bilge it churns out every year. And if they carry on giving us nil points then I'll carry on betting on it, though I'll be putting bigger bets on next time around
