I need to get my lad a laptop for his birthday/school work
These look around the budget...will only be used for MS office type stuff and browsing. Any thoughts on which is the best bet...any other killer deals out there?

Why AMD?
Dunno, I know nothing about computers...I just googled laptops and these two seemed to have decentish spec (4gb thingy, 320/500gb other thingy).
Are AMD no good?
Any more thoughts on this? I need to go shopping tomorrow 🙁

Cheers guys....unfortunately I wouldn't know a good computer if someone slapped me round the head with one. I would rather have a new than refurbished, as it's a birthday present. Are they all pretty much the same at that £300ish level?
Sorry forgot about this, sub £300 I'd be looking at the latest generation Pentium dual core, personally I'd stump up the extra £30 and get an i3. Brands are all pretty much of a muchness although Lenovo do tend to be built to last.
Lenovo are workhorses rather than looking pretty. Good choice for a shtewdent life, I'd say.
The acer one on
intel i3, 6gb ram, 500gb hard drive
