Far as I'm aware, filming for the current season has wrapped and they haven't started on the next. Could be a Christmas special or something?

Nope, filming doesnt start till January and then its abroad for 3/4wks. I know this as a mate works on set and we are currently waiting for signed pics of the Doc.
