MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
my lad wants to know what the background music is on that 6 music ad, you know the one that advertises the station, and has the "a phone a phone, this will save the universe" soundbite and advertises all the dj's. its a bit trancey apparently.
anyone care to help out?
thanks
I'd tell you, but then that would mean that more than 3 people would then know about it, and I wouldn't be able to like them any more.
*strokes chin, and sips latte*
:-/
no, sorry organic, thats not it. its advertised on the station itself throughout the day.
i thought of shazam, but theres talking all the way over it which i expect would stop it from being recognised.
ive found the ad on the programme on iplayer. its 25 mins in if you play the prog ......
anyone recognise it?
Yeah i know it, it's remix of a big room dance track from circa 1996ish, hang on and i'll search through my 10,000 odd songs , this may take a few minutes...i certainly ain't no soundhound/shazam instant service
If I here him say 'we don't work music we.....' one more time the radio's going out the bloody window....
They've been playing that add since what? November?
Guessing, is it Binery Finery?
*Raves it up in a 1998 Passion style*
Aww ****in-ell.......beaten to it, and there's me just been re-living the first time i heard it. It was played by Paul Oakenfold at Creamfields 1998, i think it was near the start of his set as Sasha was on before him and i had just gubbed 250mg of mdma towards the end of Sasha's set and by the time this tune came on i was coming up rather rapidly, along with 5000 other folk in the crowd. I've never really been into this type of dance music (prefer breaks/techno really) but in the right place (big festival) at the right time (with gf & mdma+coke+acid+weed) with the right frame of mind and with a great crowd of folk it was truly a goosebump moment, i got goosebumps and a chill just 15mins ago when i dug out the 12" from the record boxes in the attic and stuck it on very-very loud 😀 , not listened to it for years n' years and it still brings a smile to my old 40yr old face. It has one of the most noticeable and inventive chord progressions in dance/trance music and it was remixed/re-released in 2010 on the Armada label.
if you want to check it out then Look here on his soundcloud page , check out the 1998 tracks at the bottom and head over to page 4 where you'll find more remixes of it.
Halcyon days indeed 😀
