Me and Mrs. S enjoyed our first dance to Swimming in Your Ocean from the great album shown below.

Not sure many of our guests had ever heard the track before - but it was for us not them.

What did you lot choose for your first dance?

She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult.

The older members of our families weren't particularly appreciative. 😀

Didn't have a 'first dance' but Marriage ceremony started with "It must be love" by Madness and ended with "Shine on", a clubby track from the mid 90s that I can't remember who did.

It wasn't and we didn't...

Didn't have a first dance song, but one of our friends was playing an accoustic set as we signed the register, I'd arranged for him to play "Can't take my Eyes off you" told all of our guests and asked a few of them to learn the words...

When it got to the Chorus, everybody spontaneously joined in..it was great

"Shine on", a clubby track from the mid 90s that I can't remember who did.

Either:

The Cooks

House of Love

or Degrees of Motion

There were a few "shine ons"

I was going to start a 'recommend me a wedding song thread' for 3 weeks time.

I'll see how this pans out...

Wifey walked into the registry office to Walking on Sunshine, and we signed the register The Soul's Electric by the Oysterband.

We had a ceilidh and the first dance was a Canadian barn dance.

We had Apocalyptica's version of Nothing Else Matters at the start of the ceremony and we left to Bring me Sunshine by Morecambe and Wise and Wonderful World by Joey Ramone at the end as everyone left.

We didn't have a first dance. We didn't have a dance at all, just a pub and some background music (a selection of the less heavy stuff from our music collection)

Super Furry Animals - Fire in my heart.

I love that song!
We chose Saturday Sun by Nick Drake, which is a beautiful song.

We had 'Something Changed' by Pulp. Our meeting was pure chance and this summed it up (plus we both love Pulp)

We then followed up with Baby I Love You by the Ramones which filled the floor.

And we left the reception to 'We have all the time in the world' by the Fun Lovin' Criminals.

How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You - by James Taylor - bit cheesy, yeah, but we've seen him live so many times and You've Got A Friend makes both of us cry, so thought HSIITBLBY might be a little more upbeat given the occasion. Ah...happy memories 🙂

EDIT:

Someone like you- Van the man

Aye, class track that...

We had Robbie Williams She's the One as my wife walked down the aisle; Wives and Lovers sung by Jack Jones as we signed the register; and Praise you by Fatboy Slim as we left.

Our first Dance was Fun Loving Criminals singing 'We Have All the Time in the World'

we had "secret smile" by semisonic. Our lass needs a stick to walk, but i chucked it off the dance floor saying "you don't need that, I've got ya wifey!"

Some good choices above. All the right reasons by The Jayhawks for us. Followed by God Only Knows by the Beach Boys, which it turns out is actually really difficult to dance to...

RobS - The Mackenzies , classic. Led me onto the Rattler and a whole flood of youthful memories of seeing them play in Edinburgh. Best gig was up Sth Clerk St, can;t remember the name of the place, fire alarm went off and we were at the front, ended up in the dresing room drinking Becks with the band !!
Anyway, ours was [url=

get Married by The Proclaimers[/url] cos we sort of decided to do it halfway through this song the year before in a circus big top in Inverness !

"Not given lightly" by Chris Knox. A bit more mellow than his work with Toylove or Tall Dwarves, but still a classic.
