Mine was this bad boy...
Honda H100. What a machine! It was my freedom and chick magnet - stop laughing back there....
I covered many many miles on it and when I were a lad used to race my mate in his 850cc Fiesta, and win! haha!
I perfected the tuck position on it to eek out the extra point something of a mile per hour on it too. lol
mini 1000
1974 Hilman Hunter GT 1725 Holbay in 1978.
Honda XL125 in 1977
Gilera 50cc Enduro moped. R plated so not 30mph restricted.
Also Mini with 1100 engine and ahuge fabric sunroof and wide wheels. Great
1989 Fiesta Popular Plus 1.1 thought it was great after years of biking/walking to work.
1973 Yamaha FS1E here, sadly no pics of my first set of wheels 🙁
First bike:Yamaha TY80 trials bike.(nine years old at the time).
IanMunro - you are surprisingly good looking!
lol
c50 aged 10
cb125j aged 16
Hillman Avenger aged 27
FS1E here too got it 2/6/75 - can't remember what year the bike was though
71 Capri 1600 XL auto. The auto didn't last long before I bolted in a 4 speed & a Weber carb. So easy to fix with Escort & Cortina parts being dirt cheap, at the time.
Honda 50 when I was 15
followed by a Lambretta SX200 at 16
and a Reliant supervan at 17
Bugger my cover's been blown!
Suzzie.

First motorbike was an Excelsior.
Simwit - that Laverda Jota is lovely!
Do you still have it?
mini 1000 here too.
Honda CG125 (1st Generation).
Top speed of 68mph and I could get over 130 mpg too.
I used to ride up the A9 to Inverness tucked in behind a decent sized HGV as that made it faster.
Grounded it at the Aberlady corner a couple of times resulting in a big off. I eventually took a hacksaw to the tang of the stand to increase the ground clearance.
My first car The fiat Uno the best car in the world for understeer even 20mph going round a roundabout it would slide out.

Hey - the Uno wasn't that bad. I had an Uno Turbo for a while and we managed a great holiday in France for 4 of us. Fast as stink!*
* well - it felt it 🙂
Yet another 'fizzy' here - a 1974 IIRC which was clocked by the police at 52mph who couldn't stop laughing when my Dad took off his helmet - he had borrowed it to go to work one day 😆
My first cars:
1st - Nova GTE at 17
2nd - Citroen AX GT at 18
3rd Audi Quattro 2.3 Sport at 19
4th Citroen Saxo VTS at 20
First 4 years of driving cars that were far too fast for me at that age. No crashes though.
Bike - XL125S followed by CB400-4 F1.
Car - Austin Healey Sprite (Mk4, not Frog-eye)followed by, er, Fiat Uno 😕
I had one of these

Changed the exhaust, put a big bore kit on it and just the sprockets as well and it went pretty well actually 🙂
Car, 1971 Vauxhall Viva HC in white and red oxide. Given to me by my dad as an 18th birthday present two months before it failed its MOT....
Bike, Suzuki RG250 Mk 11 Gamma with a stage 3 Stan Stephens race tune. Mother of God did I learn to ride when I had that!
Best bike BTW, 1998 Kawasaki ZX6R (in green of course)......then the kids came along

How did you get a 250 as your first motorbike? Respect anyway because I can remember those things being extremely rapid, particularly when tuned 8)

I really quite fancy one of those now, or an aprilia

Funnily enough I only started biking AFTER the kids came along - does that make me a bad dad?

Cool, a Vauxhall chuv-it 😉
My ex-step-father had one of those and when he turned the windscreen wipers on it used to sound like it was saying "tarzan" to you. It drove him mad 😆

Pre 1983 you could have a 250 as your first bike.
stuartlangwilson.. I hate you. Mk1 gti as a 1st car! How did you afford the insurance?
Zedsdead
That seat and pipe are the same as on my Gilera. is it one or something like a Derbi or Casal?

Oh the memories, first that retro Cannondale for sale and now all these pics - my early years all over again.
1st Bike Honda CB175
2nd X7
3rd RD400
4th 350LC
then a car Mini Cooper S mk3 with 1000 badges on
those were the days, every thing was modified for better or worse
First bike DT50, obviously fettled the ports myself...
First car was a yellow Chevanne with one red door and one brown door. Soon sorted with an 'on the drive' sprayjob, should have been Gloss Black but defo more Matt!
Snap! see 1st page. Mine was noisy as hell.. although loved beating everyone else on their mopeds.. with head down i got it to 42mph 🙂
1st bike Honda CB100 - rebuilt by me aqnd my Dad (mostly him), ticked off my mates at poly with their Fizzies and Puch Maxis 🙂
Followed by my 1st car, a 1500 Mk1 Cortina in dark blue. £70.
After too many years without a bike I now have a yellow Daytona, and I'm driving a Fabia VRS which is a hoot. Happy days then and now.
Mk1 VW Polo 895 cc in Mars red for me
Hyundai Pony coupe. Kept three spare wheels in the back because they kept collapsing when hitting obstacles such as cats eyes, small twigs and wool.
I was so proud of it - "Electric Blue" with added rust effect. I thought it was a hot hatch!
Lol at Ho-hum's dad's car's windscreen wipers saying, "Tarzan". That would drive me nuts too 🙂
Nice duds 😉
This was my first bike - a Yamaha RD250E. Sadly this isn't it but mine was the same colour but had Allspeed expansion boxes on it and a nice set or rear-sets and dropped bars. Absolutely ace bike, quite quick and much better when it had some proper Avon Roadrunner tyres fitted in a proper big size 😀
Bikes
50cc Mobelette fieldbike at 12
Garelli KL100 Cross (looked like a Tiger but was actually 80cc and with a kickstart) at 17, then RD250E on L plates when I went to college - passed my test and went straight to an RD350LC - still only 17...

Cars
Renault 20TL auto at 21, but had been driving new Renaults (one 4, four 5's and two Fuego's)since 17 (my Dad worked for Renault)
Renault 5 - simply awful
Ford Escort - pretty bad
Vauxhall Astra - not bad at all
Honda Civic 5 door - great, great car
Honda Accord - bland but reliable
Honda Civic S - fast enough to scare me = fun
Hadge - I had one of them (two actually, a DX and an E), same colour, also with Allspeed spannies.
1.6 ford mondeo hatchback in blue green colour maaaahousive boot great for getting the bike in!! No abs almost killed me on the motor way when a BMW caused a stack still miss it!!
mcmoonter
That is the coolest outfit I have ever seen...............no really, made my night that has 😉
Gilo - you mean you had one? The E looked stunning - discs front and back and those wheels mmmmm. I looked round for ages wanting a 250 but my dad wanted me get a Honda as he had a 400 Dream (yuk). I found loads of Hondas but only the one Yam which my mates mate was selling so I paid £400 for it and I loved it. They fetch really good money now but I'd love to get one. I did want an LC but they were a lot more money if truth be told.
