Trebuchet.
Mangonel.
something like that.
New On-One that Brant is about to announce?
Think it is a (very) large ballista (sp?)
That Roman oversized catapult thing, seems to have two arms that will be stressed by twisted rope/sinew/elastic/springs (delete as applicable for historical accuracy or mechanical strength or modern adaptation).
In fact, not dissimilar to this one
Its part of a Ballista. The stock and slider are missing.
Finally, Sadams WMD is found.
ballista, roman based catapult.
Baby robin launcher
More comparable to a cross bow than a catapult really, the stock and slider providing better directional control over the projectile.
Seen today, my guess is it's not medieval then.
Is there not some argument as to whether siege weapons were used in this country?
it's from Warwick Castle, so accuracy isn't really their forte
Swedish love pump
There are certainly records of siege artillery being used in this Country - Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick took his two great guns 'London' & 'York' to Northumberland to reduce several castles held by Lancastrian rebels during the early part of the Wars of the Roses.
Not sure about non-gunpowder projectile artillery though.
I have fond memories of doing a show at Barnard Castle, coming back from the pub around midnight & using the trebuchet to land water-balloons in the camp of the opposition - got one right in the fire!
🙂
