I've been renovating an old 1954 Colchester Student lathe.

After:

Hope to be making things very soon (haven't used a lathe for about 30 years)

That's rubbish fruitbat. It doesn't look anything like the workshop in Fallout 4.

Finished my first quad/drone. It doesn't fly properly, won't even take off straight, I think it's the crappy radio gear I have. Diatone 150 size with 3" props.

A fillet brazed pen pot from some offcuts. This is after a soak and a wire brush, can't decide if I should file/sand as per a frame and then get it painted or leave as is (maybe with a clearcoat)

[img] [/img]

[EDIT] Also did layed some brass on some bike tubing

Cable guides because I bought brakes with the hose too short to go the way the bike designers want it too. Also no more cable ties on the top tube doing a crap job of holding the dropper post remote cable. Will probably use a bit of old inner tube to avoid scratching frame.

Started working on a new light for my bars (new, similar, helmet one to follow).
Should be good for 11,500 lumens on full.

Weighed it. 600 grams per side. 2mm wall thickness. Could take some ribbing out but for the application it hardly matters. Now I'm looking at the heckler thinking mmm, tapered headtube, slacker headangle and adjustable ride height...

That light looks bloody amazing! Very 'raygun'/Gernsback Continuum/Deco styling. Looking forward to seeing the finished light.
Here's a little item I made last night, it's the second one, the first wasn't quite right, due to my original template being paper rather than 3mm card. Reference was a similar design I found on the 'net, but I wasn't going to pay £37! Only significant difference is no belt loop on the back.
Rather pleased with how it came out.

That balance bike puts mine to shame...I wish I had the CAD skills to draw stuff up like that. Can machine it but can't bloody draw it 🙁

Nice Zippo case CZ..just waiting for the electronics to arrive for the light.

I was setting up an small electronics bench for myself, almost bought one of these horrible things, then remembered I loathe them and looked for something better.

[img] [/img]

The base had sawn edges, but came up really nicely once I got it on a linisher then a polishing wheel. The 12v fan does a really nice job of carrying solder fumes away from my face, and the power lead goes down the leg it's mounted on then out the back of the base.

While I had the facilities, after fiddling with designs and paper models to check the shape, I made myself some lampshades too:

Thanks stevied, it turned out better than I'd hoped, but it pales by comparison to your light! That's such a cool design, where did you get the extrusion for the case?

It's my nephew. My brother is doing most of the work. There's going to be a bit of short cutting going on to get it under the tree in time.

More weight lifting relates plywood creations, this time three toaster racks for my local Crossfit Gym (they have three platforms with decent coloured bumper plates)..
