If you know someone else with a Touch or iPhone then Ping looks interesting. It's like an IM or Chat system but it doesn't use the regular network, is free to use, is instant, doesn't use any of your text allowance, and can be used worlwide without roaming charges. Neat. Bike gears is useful if you're a singlespeed or fixie rider. Stanza and eReader are both very good.
