Looking for a prezzie, but must be pretty reasonably priced, ie, in the tens of pounds.

Ah, I was going to recommend the Goodmans Heritage one we have, but that's priced in the ten ten's of pounds...

I bought a Blaupunkt jobbie from Sainsburys at £30.00, reduced from £50.00.

does it have to be bluetooth?

ive bought a nearly new Pure Evoke 1XT Prestige from here as a pressie for my lad, but its mains only and he'd need batteries so i made a bit of a booboo. ive just ordered him a different pure model now that takes batteries, so this is surplus to requirements as we have a bigger evoke in our kitchen already. its one of these....

lovely nick and id sell it for what i paid for it, which IIRC was just over £50. ideal for kitchen use, not ideal for picnics/BBQs.

email me if interested.

Bluetooth would be very preferable for podcasts and spotify listening, I know you can just use the 3.5mm but it's 2016 for lawds sake 😉

I've had this one from John Lewis in the garage for a couple of years, works well. This is a slightly updated version as it now has nfc.

I have the same DAB radio by Pure as Sadexpunk and you can buy a matching ipod dock, so it sits in kitchen and i just stick iphone on there to play podcasts

I've given up on DAB due to interference from LED bulbs but a Bluetooth speaker is just as good. After all, you'll always have a mobile won't you?

I've got two led floodlights in my garage and don't have any issues with interference. Also have a dab radio in the house beside a table light with an led lamp and don't have any issues.

I'd been working in someone's house who had LEDs in his new kitchen extension which would turn my DAB radio off upstairs when switched on. Would even badly interfere when up in the attic.

I wont buy a radio again now.

I just use a Bluetooth speaker and my mobile. If I was pushing the boat out I would even get something like a Sonos.

I have a Roberts Bluetune 50 that meets your requirements. Cost about £50 when I got it.

As it happens, I'm an electrician, and if you're getting interference from your leds you need to ditch your cheapo ones and get some CE marked ones that have proper filters and/or power supplies in them. Shouldn't be an issue for a quality lamp.

Back on topic, I considered a speaker only jobbie, but I like the one-touch-to-6-music thing.

I've Pure Evoke D2 I think it was £80.

it's not bluetooth, but does have a micro-USB, Aux in and headphone socket, so you can hook up an external source and run it through the (not terrible) speaker.

perfect for the kitchen though.

I suppose the DAB interference is a good indicator of whether someone's fitting cheap rubbish then. 🙂
I've also thought of going the speaker only way, but I'll be using up my data in no time away from home.
