I'm getting a new Android mobile phone (never had one before) so what apps do you guys have and find useful?

I'm currently thinking a travel one and a weather one but what else?

Might get that Bike Doctor one too.

I put one on my Desire HD the other day, that to links to Orange to tell me how many mins/txts & mb's I've used.
I put a scientific calculator one on also, useful at work.

What is the bike doctor one then ?

For a free app, Google My Tracks is great for recording rides.

The HTC phones have a weather app built in.

Air control lite, Bonsai Blast, Unblock Me, Moron Test Lite and Angry Birds are good for killing a bit of time.

Opera Mini is good for browsing on the go.

AppBrain is a nice alternative to the normal market for finding apps.

TED Mobile has a lot of interesting talks & lectures on various topics.

XKCD viewer is a must if you're a geek.

"I put a scientific calculator one on also, useful at work."

If you rotate the calculator on your Desire HD (the one the DHD ship with) it turns in to a scientific calc? 🙂 If you're on Orange though they probably removed it along with every other useful bit of software and replaced it with their junk.

Best apps so far on my DHD:

3g Watchdog - How much data you've used
Appbrain App market (like market but better)
Astro file manager - err a filemanager
Business Calendar beta - the best android calendar app with multi calendar management.
Dropbox - Easy way to share content with your phone or to any browser
Rail Planner live - Excellent if you use the train
Soundhound
Tunein radio
WeFi Connect

Wifi Agent.
Turn it on when on your travels and it will pick up all the open networks you pass, logging them on a map.
