You just know the crawlers are bad mouthing in the workplace today.

The people who wouldn't know how to fill the time in an unscheduled day off, they will make shoes from tennis rackets to get in and make the point.

Have a prize.

we have technology at our place. some of us have enough of it to work from home when it's not safe or sensible to try travelling

Yep - got proper, grown up job which gives me a laptop/phone so I can work from home rather than risk bending my company beemer.

What about those that don't work with 'technology' and don't get paid if they don't turn up?
I think you'll find more of them manage to get to work.....

Well, I can't speak for the whole country, but round here there's no reason AT ALL not to go into work. None.

Unless you're unemployed. Like me. 8)

If I were at home I wouldn't be bitching on here, for sure.

We still had a few slackers that "couldn't get in" despite others that live on the same road making it in ok.

I have a laptop and a phone but for some reason can't use either to control a factory. Maybe I should sack the idiots and get robots then all I would need to do is push a button to start everything.

I bought Ice Spikers so I could ride my bike in the snow and ice. Alas, I didn't consider the fact that I now have no excuse to stay at home when it's icy.

I must be a crawler. I came in to work on a rare train and a Brompton so my one member of staff didn't have to try and run the post room service by himself. 🙄

I've been at home on standby since 6am, no phone call so as my terms and conditions state after 1pm Iam free to do what the hell I like. Cheers easy! Delamere forest here I come.

A guy has not come in today because he can't get off the estate in his car. His estate is 4 minutes walk from a metro station, and our office is a 2 minute walk from another metro station, and all trains are running with no delays.

Boss is furious...

I could have worked from home, but then I wouldn't have had an excuse for a bike ride through the fresh powder.

The boss was impressed (I'm the boss).

I'm in. Took me 4 trains and 2 hours but I'm here. It's just a shame the people I'm here to see couldn't make it.

I'm in. 15 mile ride down the snowy canal towpaths was lovely. The road sections were horrendous though, complete gridlock and lots of total muppets driving round in igloos, windows totally covered in snow.

It's a very quiet office today though.

I'm in. Took me less time to get in than normal as the roads were empty and I picked my sister up from her house and dropped her at work (she doesn't like driving in snow/ice) on my way here.

I'm sure they did. Big incentive, not getting paid if you don't go in. Not getting paid for staying over because you can't get home again might balance that a bit though

but I'm alright Jack 😉

Even after 12" of snow i braved my commute this morning. Although, technically, as currently i'm un-employed, that did only involve getting out of bed and going down the stairs to watch rubish day time telly............

So, i've just spent an hr shovelling snow pointlessly around the place in order to get a bit of a work out 😉

Worked with many over the years, But always the first to be made redundant
or fired and yet each one of them always seem to be surprised when they go first.
