My iPhone just have me a warning on this sites’ data usage / storage. STW had stored 2.1GB with of cookies on my phone.
This was several orders of magnitude more than any other sites data.
I presume that’s not normal and that something has gone wonky behind the scenes.

Many websites use "service workers" now to do some data caching to improve performance. This is more manual than old school browser caching, so more opportunities for web developers to mess it up.
