Bloody hell, that was an astonishing way to keep history alive and commemorate the fallen.

I came across it at Manchester Piccadilly. this morning. Astonishing and hugely moving.
Brilliant idea.
Really moving. Brings it home, just how lucky we are to live in the era that we do.
All our lives we've passed war memorials and only really notice them with wreaths.
This really makes it real and puts a human face on the dead.
A fantastic idea.
Just listened to it on R4. Sounded very moving. As if they were ghosts.
As if they were ghosts.
A friend sent some photos from Salisbury, saying just that.
It looks jaw droppingly powerful, and the idea of silently handing over a card describing someone is amazing.
I was handed a card this afternoon is a group walked through a shopping centre. I knew what day it was but hadn't connected the two and hadn't head of wewerehere. Ive been thinking about it all day since.
A very poingant memorial.
RIP Private Charles O'Neill of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He was 22.
Very, very well done,it had me in tears.
Very moving even watching it on the TV. Great idea.
That Jeremy Deller chap was involved in organizing it - the one who had the mad but great idea to get brass bands to play dance music.
Agreed. Very moving and an excellent idea, funded by the Lottery I understand
Some incredibly moving photos today, a lady hugging a 'ghost soldier',
and a fantastic shot of a 'ghost soldier' stood in a train carriage, whilst behind him a lady turns away and cries.
Genius idea.
Brilliant idea..
i saw one particular photo a few times and thought what a set of dicks i have now seen a few and totally get it and am genuinely moved to tears by it. A very appropriate tribute.
Went to see the Weeping Poppies at Perth today at the Black Watch Museum

A lot of people were talking about #wearehere and there were some very moving stories about Great Grandparents that had fought.
In vaguely related news and close to home, it was the 100th anniversary of the Accrington Pals a few days ago. Do me a favour and Google it.
Why would you think "what a set of dicks"?
Very dusty today. What a brilliant idea.
This really makes it real and puts a human face on the dead.
A fantastic idea
This ^
I thought it was a very subtle and moving way to remind us of the real people that were involved and killed in WW!
