Has anyone changed their normal polycarb roof for an insulated lightweight one? How much warmer does it make the room? Can it genuinely be used all year round? Also how much light do you lose in the room?

I'd be interested in this, having slopped solar paint and also solar inserts and window tint film it has made a difference to keeping the light out.. Heat wise is marginally better still v warm in summer and above freezing in winter 38 - 8c. What products were you looking at? Gable ended east facing conservatory

Based on ours, not unless you accept you'll be heating it - we just tapped a rad off the main system.

More and more variations hitting the market. Using kingspan panels then tiling over. Some calcs have to be done first I believe. Vastly improved insulation properties. Brother in law heavily involved with the synseal variation, he rates it.
On the other hand my parents have a big old conservatory and heat it using a log burner all year round as they use it as their main lounge.

Isn't this against building regs?
