I have to admit that it looks like fun.

I wonder what the UK would class it as though... Scooter? Car? Something else? Maybe they will just let it fall through the cracks like the Segway...

nein danke. Looks bloody aweful. And I'd be waiting for people to help me out of it, disabled-carriage-like.

Looks like a cross between a Smart Car and a Sinclair C5.

Does look like a giggle. I saw someone on one of those three wheeled mopeds the other day (the ones with two wheels on the front) - for a second I was like, "Hmmm, looks like fun".

Speaking of electric cars, did anyone catch the documentary "Who Killed the EV1?" about the electric vehicle that GM introduced in California in the late nineties? It looked like it was going to be a success when a combination of oil companies, (seemingly) dodgy state government and the car companies themselves conspired to take it back off the roads. It certainly looked like it flew a bit.

Looks like a wheelie bin stuck on top of a wheelchair.

Seriously it does raise questions as to whether we need another class of vehicle classification for electric thingies. As far as I know, that will have to pass the same legislation standards of any car. Maybe we need some sort of exeption or new licensing arrangement for say sub 30mph electric car-like and bike-like vehicles.

We already give them free tax, why would we benefit from giving them different standards to adhere to? Because it's slow? Bikes dont adhere to different standards.

In theory it looks fun but in practice it will be slow, too wide to trickle between stationary traffic, only parkable in ordinary parking bays and be stupid money. Wouldn't like to be in it in an accident either.

Oh and in the UK you will still have to wear a helmet, so the girls will get helmet hair and therefore not want to go out in it 🙁

Something I noticed about smart cars - the short, tall ones (if you see what I mean!). Saw a new driver parking it end-on in a road-side parking bay. It occurred to me that as none of its reflectors pointed in the direction of traffic it was almost invisible when parked like that of a night. Add that to the fact that it's hard to then see to reverse out of said space it really is just an excuse for being a useless driver.
