In the last few hours, as I have say here at my desk, I have developed a very slight pain in my eyes, and have experienced hallucinations of what I can only describe as balls of fluff floating in the air every 15 minutes or so and that disappear as suddenly as I 'see' them.

I've never had this experience before.

Any serious ideas? Is there something I should be worried about?

Doctor, doctor, I keep seeing pink elephants!
Hmm. Have you seen a psychiatrist?
No, just pink elephants.

Seriously, sounds more an eye problem than an halucination, which is of course in the mind. Have you been looking at any bright lights lately, any chance you could have damaged a retina or something?

Could be Iritis too but prob not in both eyes. This can be serious and could cause a detached retina.

Agree on migraine.

If you're at work and need to drive - how long is your drive home? I can't drive with a migraine as the visual disturbance sort of stops me seeing things.

With the eye pain and floaters it could be a detached retina, pop along and see your GP.

Ignore roach, Iritis does not cause a slight pain nor does it lead to retinal detachment.

The symptoms you describe could be a visual migraine.
Sounds more like changes in your vitreous ( the jelly inside your eye) causing floaters to occur. Normally these are innocuous however in rare cases changes in the vitreous can lead to a retinal detachment. Are you getting flashing lights in your vision?

Best getting it checked out at an Optometrists or failing that your GP
