How many seconds did you last?
What is it with that laughter track?

Even as a massive Vic&bob fan, slightly less than a minute.

I'm still laughing at Les and the chives 22 years later.

On in background, it's not great, getting a bit better but still pretty tired, don't think their style works in a sitcom, that other thing they did a few years ago (Catterick I think it was called?) Was pretty poor too.

+1 for Les and the Chives, man with the stick, Graham Lister, Morrisey the Consumer Monkey and Novelty Island

I saw a clip on Breakfast the other day and it was so disappointingly bad that I can't bring myself to watch.

I felt I had to laugh as MrsLister was whinging that it was terrible.
But it was hard work.
Maybe it'll get better? I'll try next week...

It got better as it went on. It took me back as the gags were so similar to 20 years ago.

I thought it wasn't a complete disaster.

I'll still be watching next week

Half an hour of pap to get to the hole in the wall gag, which was good bit preceded by half an hour of pap

Some funny lines, but that stupid laughter track really annoyed, lasted 20 mins. Might try again next week, if nothing else is on.....

Utter codswollop, lasted 400ths of a second in the time it took me to press the channel change button on the remote.
Far better things to do than listen/watch anything these two imbeciles try and create.. Appauled that we've funded yet another programme that brings there two oik's back on the screen.

Shame I don't live in Tunbridge Wells as that rant right there could almost come from Mr Angry of TW!!

What the hell do you see in thier "comedy"??? eh, what is it??

Loddrik - it wasn't the chives. It was the soil that the chives were in.

I wont watch anything by Vic and Bob now. I was a MASSIVE fan of theirs (not Newman/Vic) and had all their stuff. Shooting Stars was flogged to death and that was the turning point for me.

My favourite lines are:

Are you looking at my bra?

Time for my morning wine

😆

I liked it, and the 13-year-old me who loved Big Night Out would have thought it was hilarious.

Whenever Vic Reeves is mentioned, I am obliged to mention that he was at school with my mam.

Tunbridge Wells

My bestmate used to bump into Bob literally all the time. He was always looking down/peeved.

Whats the closest modern comedy to the old V&B? Mighty Boosh?

I thought it was great, funniest thing I've seen in ages.
OK, not all the gags worked, but there were so many that it didn't matter.

You don't have to wait for it to repeated. This is the 21st century. There's all kind of bonkers modern shit going down at the BBC nowadays. Your license fee literally funds magic…..

It took me about 5 years to warm up to Noel Fielding, I quite like MB, far prefer Noel on his own though 😀

Do you have to be high on some kind of drug to watch V&B, you know in a student humour kinda way?
Clearly I haven't got any of that in me, but suspect the producers of the programme have in some small way convinced the BBC that there are still folks around (about 400) that actually get what V&B might call humour.

That’s me done on this.

Glad that some liked it and found it funny and rekindled previous incarnations of their particular endeavours.

The only thing good I can think of out of any V&B outputs is getting that blond woman back on telly whilst all around her was falling apart, probably kept her sane.

Well they get Miranda on and Mrs Browns Boys between them there's about 1 person likes them so that'll be why.

I didn't dislike it but I am getting bored of the beebs lack of originality. Since the success of the bloody awful mrs browns boys they now seem to be churning out these live studio audience, broad slapstick sitcoms - Catherine Tate's Nan being another. No doubt Rik and Ade will be back soon with another series of Bottom.

Ah I fondly remember watching the first "Big Night Out". Wonderful stuff. Just look at the size of that sausage.

Sadly, the trailers put me off the new sitcom so I didn't watch it.

Yep. I was nearly put off by this actual thread but watched it anyway and laughed my head off. Yep, it's cheap badly acted crap, but right up my street. Proper, stupid funny. 🙂
