Just backfrom a week away and thought I'd give the place a plug as we were the only Brits they've had and the owner would like to meet more!
Downers are a 1.25 mile unmade road to get to the Gites but you get used to it (seems to go on forever the first time you travel it), and some noisy dogs down the valley.
Pretty busy road between Die and Valence at the end of the track but once you're off that the roads are very quiet. Lots of gravel roads. Marked (in a French way ;-)) mountain bike routes. We went last year and took the road bikes, this year was CX and they did everything we wanted to do.
Some walking routes right from the door too.
