So I have just got hold of vectorworks (mac version) 2008 any users got any tips and tricks or ways of best practise. I come from AutoCAD. Thanks I'm just off for a run.

Not so much stuck just don't want to get into bad habits. I'll have a look tonight I want to make some templates A4 upwards and change to metric and perhaps even draw some simple Plan and Elevations.

OK - basic good habits would be to make proper use of Classes, Design/Sheet Layers & viewports, only annotate & dimension in the annotation space on sheet layers and use saved views to access different presentations of the drawing. Also get used to the keyboard shortcuts ASAP as that'll save a bundle of time. BTW if you're doing templates skip the built in title block tool, I've found it a load of bollo.
